During our Mothership charters, start your day with a leisurely breakfast on board Spirit, with freshly baked breads, continental breakfast or egg dish of the day. THE CAPTAIN AND THE CHEF
Captain Martin and Chef Jo DeBanks have been in the yachting industry globally for over 25 years. Their early years saw them running high-end dive and adventure charters in places as remote and exotic as Africa and the Middle East. From there, charters for the rich and famous ensued, before they eventually ending up running a globally based yacht specializing in game fishing and diving. After over a decade and two around-the-world trips, they decided to make Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef their home, providing unparalleled access to the pristine waters off the east coast of Australia.
Their love of the ocean is evident in all they do; being passionate and experienced in all water sports enables them to easily cater for the most discerning and adventurous of guests, while still producing the luxury and service expected.
Cordon Bleu-trained chef Jo’s passion for food came early on in life from her mother, herself a life-long chef. It was a natural progression to combine her love of the ocean and natural talent, enabling her to produce dishes of the highest standard. All tastes are catered for from the well-appointed galley over which she presides.
